Dr. Goldenberg is the founder of Engineering Services Inc. (ESI) - www.esit.com, established in 1982. ESI is a high-technology company involved in the development of robotics-based automation and technology. Under his leadership, the company has achieved significant growth and a global leading role in a wide range of industrial sectors. From 2000 to 2001 Dr. Goldenberg was also the President of Virtek Engineering Science Inc. (VESI), a high-technology company formed after the acquisition of part of ESI by Virtek Vision International Ltd., a publicly listed company. Dr. Goldenberg is also President of Anviv Mechatronics Inc. (AMI), which he founded in 2006. Anviv is a high-technology company involved in the development of mechatronics products. In 2021 Dr. Goldenberg has established two companies active in AI-Embedded Robotics: TNL AIEmbedded Robotics Inc. and ESIRAI Inc. In May 2015 ESI has been acquired by a Chinese consortium located in Shenzhen, P.R. China. He has been the President of ESI after the acquisition until the Chinese consortium became a public company listed in Hong Kong. Dr. Goldenberg has been the Chief Technology Officer of the public company until May 12, 2019, when he left the public company. Dr. Goldenberg is also the founder of the field of Robotics at University of Toronto where he has been from 1982 as a Professor of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering, cross appointed in the Institute of Biomaterials & Biomedical Engineering, and previously cross-appointed in the Electrical and Computer Engineering. He is as of 2011 a Professor Emeritus. Dr. Goldenberg is also an Adjunct Professor at Ryerson University and Guest Professor at Nanjing University of Science and Technology, P.R. China. Dr. Goldenberg has supervised to date one of the largest numbers of graduate students in the Faculty of Applied Science and Engineering (48 PhD and 67 MASc). He has an exceptional publication record with over 10500 citations (134 archival journal papers, 306 papers in major conferences, 15 book chapters and 95 patents granted and applied). As of May 2019, he has returned to the University on a part-time basis to work on graduate research in the use of Artificial Intelligence in Advanced Robotics, focusing on Personal Service Robots. This is the domain of research of RAL ‘2019. From 1975 to 1981 Dr. Goldenberg has been an employee of SPAR Aerospace Ltd., of Toronto, working on the development of the first Space Shuttle Remote Manipulator System (Canadarm). Dr. Goldenberg is a Life Fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, Inc. (IEEE), a Fellow of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), a Fellow of the Engineering Institute of Canada (EIC), a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Engineering (CAE), a Fellow of The American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS), a Member of the Professional Engineers of Ontario (PEng), and a Designated Consulting Engineer in Ontario. He is the recipient of the 2010 PEO Engineering Medal for Entrepreneurship, the 2013 EIC Sir John Kennedy Medal for Outstanding Merit in the Engineering Profession, the 2016 IEEE A.G.L. McNaughton Gold Medal for Exemplary Contributions to the Engineering Profession, and the 2018 Ph.D. (Honorary) from the Technion, Israel Institute of Technology. 2 Dr. Goldenberg is a former editor of the archival international journal IEEE Transactions on Robotics and Automation, and a member of the editorial boards of Robotica, Robotics in Japan, Journal of Robotics, Robotics Journal, Scientific World Journal, Industrial Engineering and Management Journal, SOJ Robotics and Automation and International Journal of Automation and Computing. Dr. Goldenberg obtained his PhD in 1976 at the University of Toronto, and his M.A.Sc. and B.Sc. degrees at the Technion, Israel Institute of Technology, in 1969 and 1972, respectively. Dr. Goldenberg was born in Bucharest, Romania.

Prof. Juyang Weng received the BS degree from Fudan University, in 1982, M. Sc. and PhD degrees from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, in 1985 and 1989, respectively, all in computer science. He is a former faculty member of Department of Computer Science and Engineering, faculty member of the Cognitive Science Program, and faculty member of the Neuroscience Program at Michigan State University, East Lansing. He was a visiting professor at the Computer Science School of Fudan University, Nov. 2003 - March 2014, and did sabbatical research at MIT, at Media Lab Fall 1999 – Spring 2000; and at Department of Brain and Cognitive Science Fall 2006-Spring 2007 and taught BCS9.915/EECS6.887 Computational Cognitive and Neural Development during Spring 2007. Since the work of Cresceptron (ICCV 1993) the first deep learning neural networks for 3D world without post-selection misconduct, he expanded his research interests in biologically inspired systems to developmental learning, including perception, cognition, behaviors, motivation, machine thinking, and conscious learning models. He has published over 300 research articles on related subjects, including task muddiness, intelligence metrics, brain-mind architectures, emergent Turing machines, autonomous programing for general purposes (APFGP), Post-Selection flaws in “deep learning”, vision, audition, touch, attention, detection, recognition, autonomous navigation, and natural language understanding. He published with T. S. Huang and N. Ahuja a research monograph titled Motion and Structure from Image Sequences. He authored a book titled Natural and Artificial Intelligence: Computational Introduction to Computational Brain-Mind. Dr. Weng is an Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Humanoid Robotics, the Editor-in-Chief of the Brain-Mind Magazine, and an associate editor of the IEEE Transactions on Autonomous Mental Development (now Cognitive and Developmental Systems). With others’ support, he initiated the series of International Conference on Development and Learning (ICDL), the IEEE Transactions on Autonomous Mental Development, the Brain-Mind Institute, and the startup GENISAMA LLC. He was an associate editor of the IEEE Transactions on Pattern Recognition and Machine Intelligence and the IEEE Transactions on Image Processing.

Ouri Wolfson is the President and Chief Scientist of Pirouette Software, and a Professor of Computer Science at the University of Illinois at Chicago. He is a Fellow of the Association of Computing Machinery (ACM), a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS), a Fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), a Fellow of the Asia-Pacific Artificial Intelligence Association (AAIA), a past ACM distinguished lecturer, and a University of Illinois Scholar. Wolfson authored over 230 publications, eight of them award winning, and he holds seven patents. His research has been funded by the NSF, Air Force Office of Scientific Research, DARPA, NATO, US Army, NASA, New York State Science and Technology Foundation, Informix Co., Accenture Co., Hitachi Co. and Hughes Research Laboratories. Wolfson is the sole founder of Mobitrac, a venture-funded high-tech startup that was acquired in 2006. He is also the founder of Pirouette Software.

Professor Bruckstein is a member of the AMS, and the MAA, and is a IEEE Fellow for contributions to Signal Representation and Swarm Robotics, a SIAM Fellow for contributions to Signal Processing, Image Analysis, and Ant Robotics, and received SIAM’s 2014 SIAG-Imaging Science Prize (with David Donoho and Michael Elad, for the paper “From Sparse Solutions of Systems of Equations to Sparse Modeling of Signals and Images”), as well as IEEE’s Signal Processing Society’s 2018 Sustained Impact Paper Award for the K-SVD Dictionary Design (jointly with Michal Aharon and Michael Elad). He received an Honorary Doctorate from Agora University in Oradea, Romania, and was elected a Fellow of CORE Academy of Science and Humanities, of the Industry Academy of the AIIA, and a Fellow of the Asia-Pacific AI Association. He was also honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award by the Indian Data Science Society, in 2021.
